Joey D’Auria is graduate of New York City’s American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and has been a professional actor for almost 50 years working in stage, television, stand-up comedy and voice over. His background as a comedian and
improvisational performer helped him win a coveted GONG SHOW trophy and in 1983 he appeared with the same act as Dr. Flame-o on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. As WGN-TV Chicago’s “Bozo the Clown” from 1984 to 2001 in Chicago, Joey received five Emmy Awards as on-camera talent. In addition to his work as Bozo, he was one of the busiest voice actors in the windy city, capping off his last year in Chicago as Max Prince in the mid-west premier of Neil Simon’s LAUGHTER ON THE 23rd Floor.

Upon returning to Los Angeles in 2001, D’Auria worked with the RUSSIAN AMERICAN THEATE ALLIANCE in an evening of Anton Chekov one acts and appeared at the Hollywood Fringe Festival as The Old Actor in THE FANTASTICKS. Rejoining the Odyssey Theatre, D’Auria tackled numerous roles in the critically acclaimed IONESCPADE, celebrating the works of absurdist playwright Eugen Ionesco. At Santa Barbara’s Granada Theater he portrayed knock-about Dutch comedian Joe Weber of the 1890’s comedy team Weber & Fields in Milt Larsen and Richard M. Sherman’s new musical PAZZAZZ! At the Beverly Hills Playhouse, he appeared as stage manager Harry J. Loveday in Scott Martin’s CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. Other notable theatrical productions include playing Colonel Pickering in MY FAIR LADY opposite Maxwell Caulfield, and as Herr Schultz in CABARET starring Joey McIntyre. On television he has appeared on the CBS comedy HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and Nickelodeon’s THE THUNDERMANS.

As a voice actor D’Auria played George Burns to Betty White’s Gracie Allen, directed by legendary television producer Chris Beard in an evening of old time radio comedy that included the talents of Jonathan Winters, Adrienne Barbeau and Gary Owens. As a voice over artist for animation Joey has supplied voices for several popular cartoons including TOM & JERRY, YO-KAI WATCH, THE LOUD HOUSE, THE MR. MEN SHOW and SPACE RACERS as well as for video games including BIO SHOCK and RATCHET AND CLANK
